WebRecently while trying to swap out a CPU Heatsink, I stripped the last screw that holds the mount to the motherboard. Anyone have any experience with removing a stripped screw from a mobo? Is the best route using a toolset that would put new threads on it and then remove it? Or am I going to ruin the mobo that way? WebMar 4, 2024 · can clarify what you mean "it won't screw in"? It won't screw in because the bracket screw hole is stripped or it won't screw in because the Cpu Cooler screw won't reach or it won't screw in because the screw doesn't grab on to the screw hole threads enough to start?
