The quality of public drinking water supplies in England and Wales is regulated by the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 20(as amended16 ) and the W ater Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2024 respectively [“the Regulations”]. The requirements of these Regulations are enforced by the Drinking Water Inspectorate WebJanuary 2010. The Regulations list the duties and requirements on local authorities. They basically require PWS to be risk assessed, monitored and where necessary brought up to standard. The requirements are similar across the different countries and the Private Water Supply Regulations 2009, which came into force in 2010, are used
