WebApr 25, 2012 · I had a rod worked on by "Bamboo Mike" Longuil. When it came back to me, there was a piece of paper included with rod care tips. Number 2 on the list was: Use soap (Ivory type) to lubricate ferrules. NO oil, WD40, or nose or hair oil. Now I know that you never ever twist the sections of a bamboo rod together and as a rule I do not like to twist graphite on graphite together but I suppose there is an exception.
